A Hindu college student was discovered dead in a lake close to his home in Satkhira Sadar upazila yesterday morning, four days into his kidnapping.
Gautom Sarkar, 20, just child of Ganesh Sarker of Mahadebnagar town, was a first year student of political study of Satkhira Simanta Adarsha College.
Police captured five individuals in this association and Gautam's body was recuperated by confession booth explanation, said Firoz Hossain Molla, officer-in-control (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
Gautom may have been choked to death, the OC said.
The arrestees are Shahadat Morol and Saju Sheik of Mahadebnagar town and Nazmul Hossain of Surighata town under Satkhira Sadar upazila, and Mohsin Ali and Shaon of Bahera town under Debhata upazila.
After recuperation of the body, irate individuals set fire to the places of Saju Sheikh,Shahadat Morol and slipping off Jamsed Hossain,Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Fazlur Rahman said.
The casualty's dad Ganesh, likewise an individual from Ghona union parishad, said his child disappeared on December 13 and the abductors requested a payment of Tk 10 lakh for his child's discharge.
He said his child left a shop close to his home subsequent to accepting a telephone call around 8:30pm when he was watching cricket coordinate on a TV at the shop. Ganesh said his child had a fight over a town intervention.
Ganesh had recorded a case blaming six individuals regarding the snatching.
